L&A Partners is a recruiting firm specialized in financial careers. We are currently seeking on behalf of a client, an international listed company, a Controlling Manager (m/f).
You will join an international manufacturing division with 11 plants and 1,4B Euros of turnover. You will be in charge of the costing team (5 people - France & Germany) and the Sales & Purchasing Controlling team (2 people in Germany).
The costing team is the financial partner of project / R&D teams and plant controllers and they challenge design, logistic, purchasing, manufacturing in the tendering and development phase.
The sales & purchasing controlling team manages the financial apsects of the purchasing & sales operations, monitor their KPIs (claims, LTAs, savings recuring and non recuring) and overall performance with particular focus on Raw material and inflation.
The main missions of the role are to:
- Assist the Global Commodity & Accounts Directors in a better understanding of the impacts of the purchasing and sales actions
- Ensure as a Financial representative the reliability of the Purchasing/Sales reporting and its consistency with the Financial figures
- Manage data consolidation at Division level
- Identify and analyse the variances between the budgeted, forecasted and actual results
- Guarantee the accuracy of the Business Plan Financials according to the Group, Business Unit and Division policies, including compliance with relevant accounting and tax rules
- Lead the technical costing team and Cost Analysts to validate the material cost assumptions in the business plan
- Validate the economic justification of investments
- Participate in the development of action plans and ensure their financial evaluation and follow-up
- Act as a strong, data-based arbitrator between the demands of the Sales, Operations, Engineering, and Purchasing departments
- Coordinate assumptions and cost basis with other controllers on-site and around the world
- Ensures that Group’s cost estimation systems and practices are applied and all involved departments obey the Group standards and rules for cost estimation
- Sets goals and working standards for the department and regularly communicate with staff members on progress and problems
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have/be:
- Finance or Engineering Degree
- +/- 10 years of professional experience with 2-3 years of managerial experience
- Results orientation with strong written and oral communications skills
- Motivated, assertive personality
- Upward mobility
