Dans le cadre d'un poste à pourvoir chez l'un de nos clients, compagnie internationale de réassurance nous recherchons un Actuaire/ souscripteur P&C H/F.
Alternative Solutions is part of P&C Partners, a key unit that brings technical services to the two business units of the Division: Reinsurance and Specialty Insurance.
Alternative Solutions provide a wide range of solutions for the transformation, financing and transfer of (re)insurance risks. It primarily acts as a service provider to the business units which are managing the respective client relationships.
- Job Summary
Within Alternative Solutions, your responsibilities will be:

To provide underwriting support to the Deputy Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO), for large corporate risks and captive reinsurance transactions underwritten in our global offices in Europe and Asia.

To assist the Chief Technical Officer (CTO) or the proper follow-up of the transactions in strong coordination with the division technical functions (Finance, Accounting and Reserving mostly)
The group defines Alternative Solutions as techniques that insurance companies or large corporates use to assume, transfer or finance risks other than by way of traditional reinsurance. The job will require significant interaction with underwriters, actuaries, technical functions & management across P&C so as to leverage and share the knowledge and systems with the wider group community.
- Key duties and responsibilities

Provide dedicated underwriting support to the AS Deputy CUO, especially for large corporate risks. Rapidly gain experience to handle “captive” related underwriting submissions.
This requires very close communication with both the underwriters and the pricing managers, to understand the structure very accurately and comply with the AS pricing guidelines and tools, and also with external stakeholders (brokers and clients).
Key requirements are: understanding the insured risk and its actuarial modelling, contributing to building or optimizing the offer, and presenting an underwriting memo for decision.

Provide further support to the underwriters to prepare and negotiate their offers and for marketing activities. This includes preparing marketing materials to explain the concept or the options, client intelligence and market intelligence, participating in client and broker meetings, developing business connections and the AS business flow.

Contribute to the integration of the AS specific process in group’s global processes by frequent informal reporting of key analytics to all partakers (Internal activity reports, Deal maintenance, Finance, Technical accounting, Reserving, Internal Control …)

Follow-up the assigned contracts: review of periodical accounts and profitability review

Contribute to the technical knowledge by providing studies, analysis to underwriting teams, to specific client request, including writing technical newsletters.
- Required experience & competencies
Experience:
-
At least 5 years’ experience in P&C insurance / reinsurance, with a minimum of 3-year experience in either actuarial pricing, finance/accounting, or large corporate risk underwriting.

Strong experience in working with underwriters and brokers

Strong experience in working with other actuarial, financial, reserving or accounting teams
Technical skills:

Underwriting skills foundation (marketing, negotiation, structuring, pricing, wordings),

Understanding of subjects associated to non-traditional underwriting as well as a wider understanding of related actuary, accounting, legal, regulatory and capital management topics

Solid interpersonal skills, to be able to negotiate “face-to-face” with brokers and clients

Good communication and presentation skills.

Excellent proficiency with Excel (including ideally VBA experience)

Strong experience of working with Microsoft Office application

Autonomy, ability to work with people and managers located in other offices

Ability to use complex spreadsheets, Word and Powerpoint

Analytical, organizational and reporting skills

Working language is English, French will be a plus

Degree in Mathematics/ Actuarial Science or Business
