Dans le cadre d'un poste à pourvoir chez l'un de nos clients, groupe international spécialisé dans la réassurance, nous recherchons un IFRS/ S2 Specialist H/F.
The candidate will report to the Head of the center of excelence , who in turn reports directly to the Group Chief Accounting Officer.
The IFRS/S2 Specialist a will be involved in a wide variety of tasks, including supporting in the organization and review of external reporting under IFRS and Solvency 2, preparation of slides for senior management, preparing IFRS accounting memos, research/peer analysis on IFRS and S2 topics, participating in implementation projects for new IFRS standards.
Key duties and responsibilities
The IFRS/S2 Specialist reports directly to the Head of IFRS CoE and will work with all team members as required by the respective tasks.
The candidate will be involved in a wide variety of topics covered by the IFRS CoE team, including recurring tasks as well as ad hoc tasks.
Recurring tasks include:

The quarterly close process (support in preparing documentation for Group auditors,)

Consolidated IFRS reporting

Narrative reporting under the Solvency 2 regime (review of allocated report sections and coordination with the contributors of those sections; support in general project management tasks)

Support in implementation of new standards and/or changes of current standards (IFRS 9, IFRS 17)
The IFRS /S2 Specialist will also be involved in a variety of ad hoc tasks, mostly in conjunction with researching IFRS technical topics and conducting selected peer reviews for external reporting, updating IFRS developments file and preparing technical memos.
B. Detailed current team responsibilities
The IFRS CoE team is mainly in charge of the following:

Draft and implement appropriate finance policies and procedures for the production of externally reported information

Lead role in overseeing the production of technical accounting papers for both current and evolving accounting issues. Ensure that these papers capture fully the accounting requirements and that current practice evolves to meet the requirements

Drafting group audit committee presentations and memos on large complex transactions for inclusion in Group Executive Committee quarterly results

Monitoring IFRS standard setting developments and update summary on a quarterly basis

Compile a controllership matrix semi-annually summarizing the status of reports production also for statutory and regulatory purposes

Attend CFO Forum and Hub group meetings and coordinate feedback/updates/views internally and externally

Participate in or lead various projects on an as needed basis (M&A, Audit, IFRS)

Manage the quarterly internal management representation letter (IMRL) process

Respond to formal and informal risk transfer consultations for IFRS accounting classification

Review core and additional audit/consultancy fees before they are presented to the AC for approval

Prepare, coordinate and /or deliver training to the Audit Committee as appropriate

Review and provide feedback on the quarterly Investor Relations presentation and press releases

Issue a quarterly IFRS newsletter to the wider finance community
Required experience & competencies
- A minimum of 6 years + experience in auditing firm working in the financial sector, ideally with insurance companies.
- Industry knowledge is required, preferably in both, non-life and life (re)insurance
- Knowledge in IFRS is required, including IFRS 17 and IFRS 9 knowledge; knowledge in Solvency 2 reporting a plus
- Fluent in english
